Thomas, Welcome to the board! Well, I think Sly will set the upcoming chapter in Arizona, and Rambo's Native-American roots will be finally revealed and explored. I don't think it's a very good idea to give Rambo a larger family (a daughter? Naaah). Think about it, possibilities are almost endless for #5.

I don't think it's a very good idea to give Rambo a larger family (a daughter? Naaah). Think about it, possibilities are almost endless for #5. One of the points of the character was that he joined the service young, before he'd had the chance to make those kind of family connections. I'm also weary about giving him a kid.

The fifth Film should start off, With Rambo getting a letter confirming his father's death and has learned through the letter that his father has given him the farm land as his inheritance in his will. We see Rambo walking in front of the farm(Like at the end of the fourth movie) and begins doing work around the barn chopping wood, feeding the horses, fixing things and One day He comes across a Young man with a wife and daughter. The Young Man exposes that he himself is a war hero of Iraq. Sympathizing with the young man and desperate for money, Rambo takes a job working around their little farm and begins to develop a bond with the 9-year-old daughter whom he realizes also wants to go into the military. Rambo Teaches her a few things (LIKE Both "Shane and Man on Fire".) becomes a secondary father figure, and carefully warns her about the dark Horrors of War. Everything seems to turn out well until, a Group of Redneck Savages whom are later in the story discovered to be illegal Gunrunners, Become to be not-so-happy about the Young man being a "Iraq" Hero( a term they prefer to as "Baby Killer." just like Rambo) living around them that they even kidnap the daughter. They notify the town's police and the sheriff of course, ends up being non-other than Will *beep* Cop" Teasle who has moved from Canada to Arizona. Teasle is shocked to realize that Rambo has appeared in his life again and gives him a warning not to go after the kidnappers/Gunrunners.After the experiences bonding with the daughter he wish he had, Rambo of course, Ignores Teasle's Warning and Vows to help the Young man get the girl back and thats when all the "ASS-KICKING" begins!!! The Story kind of has that plot that Stallone was setting up which mirrors "The Searchers" but with a little element of "Shane" left in there. By the way if you look at it real carefully, Rambo is a "Shane-like" character 'cuz just like Rambo in the 4th film, "SHANE" is a man haunted by his past, wants to runaway from it, and of course at the end realizes that "A Man has to be what he is." The same goes with Rambo!!! The Ending to "Shane" (I apologizes for it being too long.): www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFquzxwYoeE I believe the story fits perfectly. What do you all think?!!!

Since he's getting older, maybe a more slow paced action flick, like the kidnapping story, and him slowly one by one slicing throats. Classic.

A romantic comedy! (That's with sarcasm) I don't know, I kind of like the idea of Rambo killing everyone in a romantic comedy.

hmm... it's really hard to say. To me the problem with basing it around a simple gang or even a single person, is that it's a little difficult to imagine that being a challenge to Rambo. Sure he is getting older, but last movie he wiped out 3 or 4 pirates (not sure how many it was) on a boat in under 10 seconds. After the first movie, every single Rambo movie has had him overwhelmingly outnumbered and while the last movie toned it down somewhat, he still had scenes where he'd single-handedly off a good half dozen people.
So in a movie where a small group of people are to be a threat to Rambo, I feel that there is an explanation that is needed to explain why they actually pose a challenge to him. Regular run of the mill rednecks or gangsters wouldn't make much sense to me after seeing the last movie where as an older man he can still take apart a good dozen guys without breaking a sweat. Consequently, if they are to decide to leave the war genre and make the affair be more small scale, i feel that the enemies need to be something really impressive. Perhaps rogue special forces agents. A team of a dozen people that are basically just like him, but from the modern era, or maybe even one single guy who has comparable skills to him with a band of fairly well trained mercenaries. With that in mind, I am unsure how they should set up the story and explain the confrontation, but I think it is of tantamount importance that the antagonists be exceptionally well trained if they are to be relatively few in number.

I would like to see him as a Special Forces instructor at Bragg, of course terror strikes and he and his unit are put to the test. Just my two cents

As much as I love the Rambo series I think 4 ended it perfect. There's really not anything more to tell about the character. I especially dont want another Rambo if its just going to be another Commando. Rambo does not have a daughter.

Maybe another run-in with the law? Although I think Rambo would get some praise as a vet in America. I'm sure the people would know about his deeds in 2 and 3 in Rambo V.
