Rejoice Everyone! No Razzie For Rambo!

It seems both Sly and his movie Rambo didn't make the cut for this year's worst of Hollywood after all ;D as the official nominees were announced this morning.

One of the least anticipated awards shows in Hollywood, (especially by those who've been nominated) the Razzie Awards have been dishonoring the very worst to come out of Hollywood year after year since 1980.

This year, nominees were announced on the morning of January 21, 2009 with the awards ceremony scheduled on the traditional night before the Oscars — on Saturday, February 21, 2009.

Nominees are determined by more than 725 film professionals, film journalists and film fans from around the U.S. and 15 foreign countries.

Worst Movies of 2008

And the dishonors go to: Mike Myers, up this year for a total of seven nominations for a truly, deeply bad performance in "The Love Guru". along with one for his co-star Jessica Alba.

Trailing Myers in the stinko performance of the year category is Paris Hilton in The Hottie and the Nottie (she also produced) followed by the awesomely awful Mark Wahlberg in "The Happening". More nods for worst performances went to another of our favorite Worst Couples, Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher for "What Happens in Vegas".

I don't even understand why The Razzie's is an acknowledged award show.

It doesn't do anything except give bad tags on actors and writers, even if they did a good job on their Razzie nominated movie..

Although there are a lot of deserving winners and nominees, Disastor Movie? Crappy movie. Love Guru? Worst Mike Myers movie ever and I've been a big Mike Myers fan since Wayne's World.

I think RAMBO's artistic value is undeniable, that's why they saved the Razzies for other movies. Not that I would have cared if RAMBO got some Razzies... ;D

Well, there are critics I respect like Ebert (i'm happy he's a fan of Hayao Miyazaki films like Spirited Away although I can't see how he hated Die Hard and liked Speed II) and there's also fun movie blogs like Spill.com:
