Well, I have finally gotten round to making a start on my Rambo 3 knife display case. As you can see, its still a work in progress. I haven't actually connected the perspex together yet, just held it together with some gaffer tape to show you guys how far I am. It will be held in place with wooden 'L' shaped strips, which will be dark stained to match the base. As I have done with all my other Rambo knives, I have ordered another brass plaque with the Rambo 3 logo, and underneath, saying "Hibben bowie". As you can see, I have gone for red felt on the base, but I think Iam now going for a radical change. Hows this....I will cover the base with paper machete, so I can make small rocks and such, then cover the molded paper machete with PVA glue. Then I will pop down to the toy store and get a bag of kids play pit sand, and cover the glue covered base with that. I then, once the PVA has dried, use firm set hair spray on the top of the sand, to stop and loose getting away. I then mount the brass plaque on a paper machete rock in front of the knife. Add a stuffed scorpion that I have into the case, my Rambo 3 Buddha pendant, the Hibben sheath, and then a few inert bullets here and there...what do you think guys?

Just replaced the red felt with the sandy colour felt, and added 2 AK47 rounds. Thinking about adding some coiled barbed wire, which will either be half buried in the sand behind the knife, or actually coiled around it. I may also change the whole display and add a half lifted land mine (obviously an inert one which you can buy), with the tip of the blade underneath it, with the handle end elevated by a stand. I think I will also make a display for the John Rambo knife, the mission knife will stay in the bow display case, and for my First Blood knife, I will purchase some fake leaves and moss, and may even add a small piece of tree, to give it a feel of realism.

very nice... before seeing this last picture i was JUST going to suggest adding some ammo.... alas there is no need... but actually i think even a few shells (used ammo) would look cool...

Here is my First Blood display, its still a work in progrees, I have added my screen accurate sheath, some tarp and an artificial fern. I didn't want to add too much, but I think I just about got away with it. Just got to add the brown felt, and add the 'L' shape wood to the edges of the perspex and I'm done for this one. I'm already buying bits for the Rambo First Blood Part 2 display as we speak. OK, finished my Rambo First Blood Part 2 display today. Just got to mount the base, and attach the perspex. As you can see, I utilized some artificial tropical leaves. I also added real barbed wire, real dirt (thin covering on papermache), and bamboo punji steaks (which were a common weapon for the Vietcong in Vietnam, as they used to put these into pits covered with leaves, and smeared with human faeces. (didn't go that far for the display lol). The Rambo machete display is almost too, I will let you guys know a bit nearer the time of completion, but I think you guys will like, as the theme is very poignant to the movie. [imghttp://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s161/bestmum26/P140609_1715_02.jpg][/img] Heres a better idea how the Rambo machete display will be. As formally mentioned, I am just waiting for the propeller, which will be a few days for delivery. The perspex still has its protective covering on, and the bits inside will be moved around once I get the propeller.

Well after acquiring screen used Rambo 3 boots, I made a Rambo 3 mine scene display:
I have now started making another. Has two more soviet F1 grenades, but also incorporates a 30 round AK47 30 round magazine with inert shells, and a half pulled up land mine.
I'll keep you updated and will add pics once finished. :-)
