Someone on IMDB posted this: "Does anybody out there think a prequel to the Rambo series would be cool considering that John Rambo has had quite an adventurous life prior to the events of First Blood. The movie could be about him being trained to become a green baret, his relations with Trautman, his adventure in the Vietnam war, his friendship with Delmore Barry (the guy he tried to visit in First Blood just to find out he's dead) and how people protested him when he returned to America. The only hard part is finding a young actor that looks like Stallone." Yeah. Awesome. Think about a short Rambo series like 'THE YOUNG INDIANA JONES CHRONICLES', aimed at an "adult" audience. R Rating. I would like to see just 8 episodes being produced, nothing overblown. ...

I actually posted something like that on the STALLONEZONE forum!
my working title was "JOHN RAMBO: Green Berate Chronicles"
what we'd see is a glimpse of rambo's homelife, being drafted, bootcamp, the transition from a normal man living life to a Green Berate Killing Machine, his capture and torture in Brutal detail, and his escape in Brutal detail. It would end with him on a plane ride home, the people at the airport protesting, and show him beggining his long walk, which leads into FIRST BLOOD.

YES. YES. I'm all for this. I hope - if - they do a Rambo V with Stallone, that they can find a young actor to take this story back to its beginning. It's too fascinating not to. They did it with Indiana Jones and they're doing it with Star Trek. Rambo certainly deserves it!!! If nothing else a book should be written about it - Say, Mr. Morrell!!! Do ya hear me, bro?

I would prefer a book. A movie would waste Rambo's mystique and mysterious past in the saga.
