The title says it all. What was your experience watching Rambo in the theater like?
The first time I saw the movie was awesome. It was so loud and intense, I was totally absorbed in it. The second time was also great, but it was less overwhelming so I was able to notice a few things I hadn't before.
I sat in the theater until the screen went black the second time (I was on a time crunch the first time and couldn't stay for all the credits) so I could see what happened to Rambo. Everyone in the theater left before me and I heard them all commenting on it and describing it as "intense", "non-stop action", "best action movie I've seen in a long time" and stuff like that and that was really cool for me because none of my friends understand why I like Rambo so much.
By the time the entire film was done running, myself and the person I saw it with were the only people left the in theater and an employee had been waiting to clean up for several minutes. We apologized for taking so long and explained to him that we wanted to see if Rambo ever reached his dad's house and what happened, etc.
Funnily, he laughed and said, "Yeah, I've been trying to see that myself, actually. I think he probably gets ambushed after he walks behind the tree." ;D

I had a lot of mixed feelings while I watched it. Overall, I enjoyed it. After the final battle they had that scene with Rambo standing on the hill. I had some problems with the movie, but that was one scene that I didn't really want to end, because I knew that when it was over we would never see Rambo, Burma, or any of the other characters again. I mean of course I knew we'd have that ending at the farm afterwards since I spoiled myself, but I still just didn't want that scene to end. I needed a lot longer to let the experience sink in. The switch to America was a bit abrupt, but it was kind of cool as a First Blood tie-in still.
There was some clapping as Rambo walked down the road to the house, but it was kind of a bittersweet ending for me so I didn't feel like clapping that much. The ending was less victorious than the last two. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's just a different feeling than before. Stallone was trying to make this Rambo more serious in tone, and I applaud him for that. Still, I didn't get enough closure at the ending really.
As I left the theater I was pretty quiet. I had a friend with me and his girlfriend, and he wanted to talk about the film a bit, but I just needed more time for it to sink in. I couldn't just rate the movie then and there.

I loved it. I never thought I would see a Rambo movie in the cinema and it was worth the wait!
