I think its totally "pathetic" that "JOHN RAMBO" is not making its mark at the box office and i'm sure maybe it will be big internationally but what is up with back here in america? i mean we've been demanding a perfect old school action movie and when we get it, we just sink it. i mean what is up with this picture?!!!! I mean Rambo is the 1st one ever to put the action genre on the map long before "Schwarzenegger" with Commando which of course was a good "Rambo" rip-off which actually started the rivalry between Scwarzennegger and Stallone. Rambo even inspired "Die Hard" for cryin' out loud!!! because, Die Hard dealt with the whole "One-man-army" thing. While anyway, When "Meet the Spartans" beat Rambo at #1 at the box office in its first weekend, on the week after that "Rambo" became #1 during the daily box office run then all of a sudden " Hannah Montana" came out and rambo tanked down to #8 then on the daily box office results after that "Rambo" suddenly raised all the way back to the #2. Now, "Fool's Gold" comes out and it becomes #1, making rambo drop down to #8 which is now up at #7 on the daily box office results: www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/I don't want all of you to think i'm taking this seriously 'cuz i'm not, i just think that "Rambo" needs a little support at the box office and i think one of the reasons why rambo keep raising back up tryin' to be #1 is because i'm looking at the "IMDB" page on the Rambo forum and the members were talkin' about "Spreading the word" right after hearing it was tanking at the box office and i guess its kind of helping the movie, there even was a website called: "RSG: Rambo Support Group" which was designed to make sure Rambo ends up becoming #1 at the box office before it openned so, that might be one of the reasons, too. I still believe Rambo has a chance at the american box office because its at #7 now and since it was #7 and went back to #2 last week during the daily box office results , it can do the same thing ,now. So, i hope you guys keep going to see it and try to spread the word about it some more to yours friends. Yeah, It may not work but who knows.....its worth a shot, anyway. By the way, If you guys do decide to keep supporting the movie; I suggest you Hurry 'cuz i just got this news: www.imdb.com/title/tt0462499/board/thread/97587066?p=2

Wildman,
I understand your frustation, of course. Americans never loved John Rambo as much as they should have, it was an accident that 'Rambo: First Blood Part II' reached the pinnacle of the American box-office in 1985. A pure gamble. Sly doesn't still know how that happened, trust me! Well, I think 'RAMBO' has a long way ahead, and can easily fruit 45 million of dollars domestically, which is BIG for an R rating "cult-movie", if you ask me. Take in account DVD rentals and sales (HUGE, I'm sure) too. I mean, it's a cult-movie. Very different from its three predecessors.
Internationally, 'RAMBO' can reach the 70 millions mark. That's from my perspective, of course.
Site? Have you the URL? Can you post it here?

I think the fact that it's #1 LITERALLY EVERYWHERE else, proves how amazing it is, it's still #1 here in Canada, and I'm seeing it my 4TH time soon, I have friends that havn't seen it yet, and some that wanna see it again! ;D
I do my best to support it, Make sure my friends arn't pirating it, Hell MY DAD even considered downloading it, and I told him as a favour to me to delete the downloading process, and go see it!
Cause I truely believe sly deserves everybit of box office cash for this.

Everyone here,
'RAMBO' was meant to be a (successful) cult-movie, not a friggin' blockbuster. So the movie is achieving what it was supposed to do since day one.

I saw it again tonight. After having done some background study on the Burma situation I liked it even better the second time around. Best action film in years!! You're right, Sly deserves all the support and box office he can get.

I watched the new Rambo on an exclusive evening in Denmark, where all Rambo movies were screened. I will go and watch it again, when it opens ordinary the 29. february, because it needs support. I will also say, that Rambo hasn't been promoted that great in Denmark. There is not a tv spot yet, but hopefully it will soon come. I understand that Rambo always has been more loved in Europe, than in America. On the danish youth website www.arto.dk with over 500.000 members, i am heavily promoting the new Rambo movie as much as i can, Sly's new masterpiece deserves it. Thank you for a great forum. (:

Thomas,
Great account. I don't know why, but I've always connected Danmark to Arnold Schwarzenegger. I don't know why, my friend. Didn't know Sly was so HUGE there.
Welcome, man.

I only wish Denmark and Arnold had a connection. (:
But yes, Sly is really well liked here in Denmark.
Several times my references to Sly has been answered with acknowledgement and respect.
People respect the fact, that Sly doesn't just act. He comes with pa*sion and intelligence and a love for the profession, which is clearly shown on his credit list. He has written, produced and directed films for 30 years.
People LOVE Sylvester Stallone.
Again, my compliments to Jay for this board.

Thomas,
Stallone is indeed an AUTEUR, an artist 360 degrees.
I'm really glad there's still a devoted fan following for him in Denmark... and that he is HUGELY POPULAR everywhere on planet Earth.

Well, when i watched the screening of all 4 Rambo movies, people clapped everytime his name was on screen. (Sly) When Col. Samuel Trautman appeared people also saluted him with applause.
I did feel proud of Denmark that night.

Thomas,
I miss Richard (Crenna).
... you must be very proud, indeed!
What about the box office figure for Denmark?

I miss Richard Crenna alot, too...
I feel that it comes across in the new film, that Richard is missing. A vital organ in the First Blood movies. I actually felt sad when i thought about Richard, while watching the new Rambo.
About the box office figures, the film has not opened yet. I saw it at a speciel screening.
But i feel that it will make a strong entry in Denmark.
