Rambo (or John Rambo as it is called in my country), costed like 50 million $ - some sites even state 47 million $ - to make. The worldwide box office is near 101,5 million $ as of right now and still playing on more then 200 screens across America. It will probably leave theaters with a number of around 43+ million $. Not a bad number in my oppinion. Like said before, the franchise was dormant for 20 years, it is a hard R and was independantly distributed instead of huge studio's like Tristar with the last two sequels. It is also STILL playing in 36 country's of the 44 where it has openend across the globe. Rambo still has three country's up his sleave, with major market Japan being one of them. 110+ million $ worldwide is probably in the cards. And then I'm not counting the sales and rentals of DVD and Blu-Ray. Nice job Stallone Oh and by the way: If you check this link boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=rambo08.htm then you can see that Rambo camped on the top spot for 5 days of the first week.
