Brown, First Blood......teh headband was out of nessecity. It wasnt style or fashion it was out of animalistic...need.

I agree with Anklecranker. [Although what I think was a piece of Co's dress in II ranks high] - still - that piece of canvas in I is the best. Makes the character. Don't forget he is part Indian - we wear a headband to define us. Not just a tool to wick away sweat or keep the hair back - it's not really explanable. It just...defines us.

Wait! John doesn't really wear headbands for fashion... it's not only in 'FIRST BLOOD' that he does it "out of necessity".
His hair have been long since the Vietnam war, and an handband can be very useful to keep a viable peripheral sight.
I agree with Soquili. It's in his D.N.A.

The piece of Co's dress in First Blood part 2,
It's just so iconic, since I was a kid I've known Rambo to be with the RED headband,
it's just glued into my memory.
Though I do love his use of Galt's Tie as a headband in FIRST BLOOD,
least it looks like a Tie to me.

It's gotta be the FB2 RED. I thought it was a nice touch when Co dies and Rambo takes her necklace and makes a headband from her dress. It's also a good scene, because it starts the final act of the film, with Rambo truly pissed off. Plus, it's the classic Rambo colour.
